Terms and Conditions

Pet Care

During the grooming process all care is taken to ensure the health of your pet is considered. Dial a Dog Wash operators and owners are not liable for any pre-existing conditions and problems found during grooming. Any advice given regarding health problems should be checked out by a vet.

De-matting

In the event of matted fur needing a clip down, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process. Due to matts sometimes being tight to the skin, the dog's skin may get caught because of the close proximity of working to the skin. The owner agrees that Dial a Dog Wash shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems 'uncovered' on a badly matted, and/or neglected coat. The owner agrees to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog including de-matting, whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job.

Aggressive Dogs

Dial a Dog Wash reserves the right to refuse to groom any pet for the safety of the groomer and the dog. The owner agrees to inform Dial a Dog Wash prior to grooming if the dog has bitten or has aggressive tendencies. The owner understands they will be held liable for all bites caused by their dog.

Conditions of Guarantees

Guarantee of service and any refunds, will only be considered if a customers dog has been groomed at least 8 weeks prior to Dial a Dog wash calling . This is so that the dogs coat is in good condition and free from any knots or matts as possible. Failure to maintain the coat could result in losing the shape of the breed.

Refusal of service

Our groomers have the right to refuse service for any reason that can include some of the following: Dog too heavy, heavily matted etc.

Cancellations

Please understand - Our groomers work hard, and your dog’s grooming welfare is their main concern and also their livelihood, and they have bills to pay like everyone else, so we have to have the following policy in place to protect them from missed appointments.

Missed appointments of less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a fee of 50% of the standard grooming charge.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice given, or dog(s) or owner not in or not available, will be required to pay the full quoted price.

Payments

Payments can be made mainly via cash or Credit/Debit card payments.

Arrival time

I tend to arrive within 15 minutes of the agreed grooming time, as working with live animals and on the road I may have minor delays in my grooming day. In case of more important delay, e.g. 30 minutes or an hour, I would contact you to confirm if it is still okay for me to come groom your dog with e.g 30 minutes or 1 hour delay.

Safety and hygiene

Vans are cleaned and sanitised regularly to maintain high levels of hygiene, including the cleaning and disinfection of blades and scissors.

Clients must ensure their dog is free of any transmittable illness and up to date with flea and worming prevention. Please let me know of your dog’s vaccination status for awareness and so I can adjust appointments accordingly.

Groomers should be fully informed of any physical conditions (such as skin sensitivity, allergies, injury, ear infections, operations, recent virus or bacterial infection) and behavioural issues (such as canine dementia or reactivity) to ensure that the grooming experience can be tailored to your dogs’ needs, for their wellbeing and that of our groomers and the safety of your dog and other dogs. If your dog is unwell or has been recently operated, in most cases it is best to reschedule the groom, and to always check with your vet if your dog can be groomed. Please let us know at least 2 days in advance if your pet is unwell whenever it is possible to do so.

Any undisclosed injuries or conditions that are discovered during a groom will be discussed with you in case treatment may be required at the vets, and we will always recommend to get it checked at the vets.

Aggressive or reactive tendencies must be declared prior to the first groom to avoid the dog causing injury which may have been prevented by adjusting handling approach and safety precautions. This as much for your dog’s safety as mine because your dog could suddenly bite in clippers and scissors in action.

On discovery of fleas, the current appointment will cease immediately such that the van can be cleaned, sanitised, and treated for 1 hour will anti-flea treatment. A surcharge will be incurred in addition to the agreed grooming price to compensate for the lost time, specialised materials used to de-flea, and potential missed appointments this may cause.

To help minimise accidents during a groom, please ensure your dog has been to the bathroom immediately prior to their scheduled appointment.

It is important to not feed your dog with large meals within the 2 hours prior to and following appointments as some dogs may pant a lot during grooming which may lead to gastric torsion.

We thank you for your support with the above which helps to ensure we can provide the best service possible to you and your dog.
